The HEIRLOOM collection is a component of the Virtual Human Embryo Project. It is funded by the National Library of Medicine to provide additional resources for the study and teaching of human embryology.

In the collection you will find:

A summary of the stages of human embryonic development.
Online versions of the image databases of serial sections compiled for the DREM portion of the project.
A search engine allowing structures to be located in the DREM embryo databases.
Various 3D reconstructions made from the DREM data.
A description of the Carnegie collection and links to the Human Developmental Anatomy Center (HDAC) web site.
Information about the DREM disks and how to obtain them.
