Instructions for Copying the Disks to a Hard Drive

For increased performance the DREM disks can be copied to a local hard drive. Below are some simple instructions for copying the whole disk to your local C: drive ( to copy to another drive just substitute C: with the letter (eg. F:) for your drive).

The following instructions are for Windows machines but the basic principles should be apparent to Mac and Unix users.

Instructions for Extracting Images for Use in Presentations

Individual files, including all images (.jpg), animations (flash) and 3D-reconstruction files (Winsurf .xdv files), can be copied directly off the disks for use in any presentations. To use composite screen captures, for example, labeled sections with the section level indicator, follow the instructions below.

These instructions assume you are extracting a screen capture for use in PowerPoint and have access to an image processing program such a Adobe Photoshop.
