| Section through the middle of the embryo. Some epithelial regeneration of the endometrium has taken place over the specimen. The large mass of syncytiotrophoblast shows intercommunicating lacunae. The chorionic cavity is surrounded by a thin layer of cytotrophoblast. The amniotic cavity and the bilaminar embryonic disc can be seen. | |
